If you need to rename a screen in your Zeplin project, you can do this right from Zeplin or by re-exporting the screen from your design tool.
💁♀️ Zeplin has a 100-character limit for screen names. If your artboard name has more than 100 characters in your design tool, it’ll be trimmed to 100 characters in Zeplin when you export your artboard into a Zeplin project.
Renaming a screen on Zeplin
To rename a screen on Zeplin, you can click the name of the screen on the project dashboard. After typing the new name, press the Enter key to save it.
While within a screen, you can also use Option + R to rename it. This option is helpful if you want to rename a screen name within a screen variant group.
Renaming the screen via design tools
You can rename a screen by changing its name in your design tool and re-exporting it to Zeplin.
To prevent creating a new screen in Zeplin, make sure to select the “Update Screens By > Corresponding Artboard in <design tool>” option under the settings button on the export panel before you publish your designs from Sketch or Adobe XD.
