⚠️ Make sure that you're running Photoshop CC 2015 or up and that Zeplin is on the latest version.
Installing the plugin
When you launch Zeplin's Mac app, the Photoshop plugin should be installed automatically, and there should be the Zeplin plugin option under the "Window > Extensions (legacy)" menu in Photoshop.
If the plugin is not visible, you can install it from Zeplin's menu up top: "Zeplin > Adobe Photoshop Integration > Install Plugin…"
If the plugin still doesn't appear in Photoshop, make sure that the "Enable Generator" option is selected on the "PS menu > Settings… > Plugins…".
☝️ To make sure the changes are applied, please restart your Photoshop app.
Did you try to install it via the menu and it didn't work?
If installing from the menu doesn’t work, you can try installing the plugin manually. You need to install the plugin along with the panel.
The plugin:
Download the plugin from here.
Unzip it and copy the folder called
io.zeplin.photoshop-plugin
.Paste it under the
Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2024/Plug-ins/Generator
(update the Photoshop version in the directory if you are using an older version. i.e.Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2023/Plug-ins/Generator
).
And finally, the panel:
From the Finder menu, select “Go > Go to Folder…”, and type
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions
, and click Go. (If theCEP
directory doesn't exist, you can create it manually.)Download the panel from here.
Unzip it and copy the folder called
io.zeplin.photoshop-panel
.Paste it to the revealed folder in Finder.
Now, when you restart your Photoshop, you should see the plugin in the menu up top: "Window > Extensions (legacy) > Zeplin"
Using the Photoshop Plugin with an Apple silicon Mac
The legacy extensions menu has been disabled by default on Photoshop if you're using a Mac with an Apple silicon chip (M1 or higher) — see the list of Mac computers with Apple silicon.
You can enable this menu by following the steps below:
Open the "Applications" folder.
Open the Adobe Photoshop folder by double-clicking.
From there, right-click on the Adobe Photoshop app.
Select "Get Info".
Enable the "Open using Rosetta" option from the revealed panel.
Re-launch Photoshop.
Once you have done this, Zeplin's plugin should be listed under "Window > Extensions (legacy)" on Photoshop.
☝️ If you still don't see the Extensions(legacy) menu, try restarting your Mac.
