You can now publish your designs in order! Whether your artboards or components are laid out horizontally, vertically, both horizontally and vertically, or you numbered them in your design file, you can choose the order you want to publish them to Zeplin.

After you start the publishing process, in the project selection window, you’ll notice the new “Order Screens and Components by" menu where you can select from a few different options. You can order your designs by:

By default, Zeplin will publish your designs ordered by their positions and add them to your project or styleguide accordingly. You can update this setting any time from the project selection window.

Using the Figma plugin, you can order your frames and components by their positions or names. Notice the new Frame/Component order option under the Settings menu.

Using the Adobe XD plugin, you can order your artboard and components by their positions or names. Notice the new Artboard/Component order option under the Settings menu in the Adobe XD plugin.

If you prefer to order your designs by their positions in the canvas, Zeplin will analyze the layout of your designs based on how close they are to each other. They can be laid out vertically, horizontally, or both vertically and horizontally, Zeplin should still be able to distinguish the layout and publish them in the correct order automatically.

If you prefer ordering your designs in the layer list, Zeplin will publish your designs by their order in the layer list, from bottom to top.

If you prefer ordering your designs in the layer list, Zeplin will publish your designs by their order in the layer list, from top to bottom.

If you prefer ordering your designs based on their name, e.g. “1.0 Login”, “1.1. Sign Up”, Zeplin will publish your designs based on their name, sorting them alphanumerically.
