Tags in Zeplin allow you to organize and filter your screens by whatever properties make sense for your workflow. You can use Tags to group your screens based on their status (i.e., To do, In progress), common elements you use ( i.e., Popups, Dialogs), or to assign your screens to certain users. By adding multiple tags to screens, you can easily locate and filter the content you want to see.

To create a tag from the project's Dashboard page, select the screens you would like to include under this tag and right-click.

There, a window will appear where you can either create a new tag or associate those screens with an existing tag. As you type, tags get filtered, and finally, if there’s no match, it lets you create a new one.

When you click on a tag in the Dashboard, all of the screens associated with that tag will be filtered (even if they exist in separate sections). You can also click on multiple tags to filter further. In the meantime, you'll see how many screens are tagged when you hover over a tag.

☝️ When a tag is active, reordering screens is not possible. You first need to disable the selected tag to reorder your screens.

You can also see all tags added to a screen in the right panel when inspecting screens. These tags will be listed by frequency of use.

To add a tag while on a screen, use ⌘+T on the Mac app and ⌥/Ctrl+T on the Web app. You can also click the "…" button near the Tags section on the right panel to open the tag edit window.

Sharing tag links

You can easily share tag links with other members of the project. Select tag or tags and right-click to copy links.
