Zeplin automatically fetches all the colors of an Adobe XD document when you publish any artboard or component in it.

☝️ If you’re using the legacy plugin, make sure that the file is saved locally before publishing. Due to a technical limitation, it is not possible to publish files saved on Adobe Cloud.

Adding suggested colors

These fetched colors will be listed under the “Color Palette” section in your styleguide as suggested colors. You can either add them all using the “Add All Colors” button or click separately on the ones you want to add individually.

Ignoring and resetting suggested colors

If you dismiss the suggestions by clicking the “x” button on the right top of the suggested color window, Zeplin will not show these colors again on your next export, to not bug you all the time.

If you’d like to see suggested colors again, you’ll need to select the “Help > Reset Suggested Colors” option from the menu up top while you're in a project or styleguide. Then, when you export another artboard/component from the same file, you will see the suggested colors in your styleguide again.

Naming and formatting colors

When you publish colors from XD, the names and formats of these colors in Zeplin will match the way your colors are named and formatted in XD. You can learn how to edit color names and formats from the articles below:
