Adding text styles to your styleguide

If you’re working with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, Zeplin automatically fetches all text styles defined in your design file when you export any artboard or component from it. You’ll also have a specific option in Zeplin’s Sketch and Figma plugins to export your text styles directly. Check out the following articles to learn more:

Besides exporting them from your design file, which is the recommended way, you can also create text styles and add them to your styleguide by clicking on the options button right next to the font name and selecting the "Add to styleguide" option there.

When you click on a text layer, if the relevant text style has been added to the styleguide, you’ll be able to see with which style a text layer matches under the TYPEFACES section on the right panel. Clicking on the "View in styleguide" option will take you to the styleguide where you can manage your text styles.

Editing text styles

When you navigate to the "Text style catalog" page under your styleguide, you'll see that all text styles added to the styleguide are listed here.

On this page, you can edit names of your text styles by simply clicking on their names. If there is a text style added with a color and you'd like to keep it without a color property, you can remove the color individually by clicking on the "ⅹ" icon near the color.

Deleting text styles

You can delete a text style from your styleguide by clicking on the "ⅹ" icon that appears on the right side when you hover over a text style.

If you want to delete all of your text styles in your styleguide at once, you can click on the "…" options button and then select the "Delete all text styles" option from the revealed menu.
